Designer Woven Labels

Branding of a product is necessary part in any business. What does branding means ? Branding is nothing but a name imprinted in one’s mind for its quality and services. A product has to be branded for marketing as the people know the product by brand and not by its qualities, fineness etc. It is the other way around with an established brand hence people opt for it rather than go for other products which are not branded but may be of good quality than the branded ones. The question is how the brand gets known and this is achieved by extensive advertising. In garment the clothing labels are the ones which are mainly used in garment marketing. There are many types of clothing labels among which woven labels are the most prominent ones. Now why Woven labels?

Woven labels are widely used in apparel and its associated industries as they are sturdy and elegant in look. They are made from 100% polyester yarns and are weaved. One can get any design weaved i.e they can be customized as per the one’s need. As they are polyester fabric labels they can withstand any wear and tear. The colors don’t fade no matter how many washes are carried out. For weaving the design is made in special software called as Mucad and then submitted to the looms .The labels which comes out are soft and smooth.

There are many types of qualities which can be weaved in the looms. By quality we mean density of the labels. Now the density is defined as the no of horizontal yarn passes per sq cm. If the no is 56 then the density is 56 and this density is given a name as Damask labels which are widely used. Given below are some of the qualities widely used:

1. Taffeta: Here the density is 28 and the quality is low. This quality is generally used for size labels and care labels.

2. Damask: The density is 56 and it is medium quality and widely used worldwide.

3. Half Damask: This quality is the mix-up of the above 2 qualities. This is used where people like to have their design as well as care instructions. The uppe portion is Damask and the bottom taffeta.

4. High definition: The density is around 80 and the labels are very fine and of high quality. Pricing is high but for some elegant clothing people use it.

Finally these labels come in finished form as given below:

1. Straight cut: No folds are done on the labels and are usually sewn on all 4 sides or op or left & right side only.

2. Endfold technique: Folded down on left & right side.

3. Centerfold Woven Labels: Folded in the middle and usually sewn into a seam.

4. Miterfold technique: For miter fold label, where the ends are folded under and up, creating a tab to be sewn onto a seam.

Apart from the above mentioned finishes woven labels can come with iron on backing as well as self adhesive backings. Labels with iron on backing are easy to use as they do not need to be sewn as the name suggests. Just iron on it and they get stuck on the fabric or whatever type of fabric you have. The other one is self adhesive wherein peel of the backing and stuck on the medium where you need it has to be put on. These are generally used in footwear. The woven labels can be cut to any size and shape per the requirement.
